Weekly Blog

This week in the academy, we had two days off of school. Yes!  On Monday, we had the props for our atomic theory skits due, but for homework that day, all we had to do was to continue working on our project, so Monday was pretty uneventful.  But I did get to leave early from school for an orthodontist appointment.
Tuesday, well that was a different story.  On Tuesday, we first headed to Mr. Riechles room for the "How the states got their shapes" assignment, which Mr. Riechle assigned a certain country to our specific rows in the classroom, and we had to find certain statistics about the countries we weere assigned using the CIA World Factbook website.  Then we headed back to the Academy Room and most of us put the final touches on our Atomic Theory skit.  For the last portion of the day we worked on the English paragraph writing, which took us to the end of the school day.  Tuesday was pretty nice, because we didnt have any extra work or assignments.
That brings me to Wednesday.  This was the big day, because on Wednesday we had to perform our atomic theory skits, which i'm pretty sure most people started to fret about.  When the skits started, we had to take notes on each of the individual people everyones skit was about.  Then it finally came time for my skit.  For my skit I paired up with Sara Heyerdahl and Haile Kritner, knowing that if I paired up with almost anyone else, I would be totally distracted from my work and not get the skit done.  When our skit was finally over, I actually felt pretty good about our skit and I was sort of relieved that I just didn't totally screw up.  That is what I did in the Integrated Learning Academy this week.

Weekly Reflection

This week in the Integrated Learning Academy, I had four projects that needed to be completed.  FOUR!  Now thats a lot of projects that needed to be completed in the alotted timethat we were given.  Plus on top of that I had Four tests on friday.  Sometimes I just can't handle it and my brain just overloads and I lose track of what projects are due on day and what projects are due on another day.  But enough of me complaining.  Lastly, it was fun to be in the art room almost all day

Personal Blog

This week in the Integrated Learning Academy, we got to go to the Apple store at Mayfair Mall.  But I had to get up at five thirty today to go to school earlier, to get the signatures of the teachers for the classes that I am missing for the field trip.  I also got Paired up with Jace Mcafree to find out if one to one computing helps in learning in school, and what device would be the most compatible with learning in day to day school settings.  Hence the reason that we are going on the field trip.  After the trip, I was pretty impressed with the IPad 2, because from what the Apple employees said, it is compatible with carrying and transferring files such as powerpoint and Microsoft Excel.

Weekly Reflection

This week I finally learned how to fully use the blogger website thanks to Mr. Richle and Mrs. Miller.  I also got to experiment and test Alex and I's shoe experiment.  First we threw the shoes off of the roof, then we ran them over with the car.  After, we soaked the shoes in water and then we ran them over again.  Finally we got to tear at them with our hands, and by the time we were done with them the shoes were almost unreconizable.

Personal Blog

Personal Blog:
This week I continued to work on my art project.  My project is to draw a picture and grid it off, then draw each section, and eventually you would get a picture.  The picture that I have chosen is a picture of a pug with a Yoda costume on.  I have already grided out my entire picture, and now I am starting to Color on the picture with oil pastel crayon.  It will be hard to color in once I get into the details because the pug's face is very wrinkly, and not to mention, I have to add all of the wrinkles and shades on his Yoda costume.

ILA English

I learned from the design a room project that people need to work together, and all of them have to contribute ideas in order for you to have a successful room design.

I learned from the ropes course that you have to use teamwork to successfully complete the ropes course, because if there isn't teamwork someone could get seriously hurt or worsse.
